  • Comparing this one to my original LP release (actually Panda Bear - Person Pitch, aka Rainbo pressing), it's a notable improvement. I hear a more balanced sound, detailed highs - plus proper gatefold packaging, unlike the original's single-sleeve jacket. My original LP is just plagued with pressing issues. I'm glad I finally have one of my favorite albums in a near-flawless vinyl pressing. 100% recommend

  • Thrown off by the album when it was released, but I took a chance on the VMP release and I love it now. It's definitely not for everybody — and it definitely benefitted from the musical climate of its time to have been so highly-covered and praised (peak of indie rock/pop and Animal Collective's popularity, intriguing lo-fi production) — but it's dense and hypnotic. Panda Bear treats baroque pop harmonies the way The Caretaker works with dusty shellac records.

  • Album sounds great, but the music isn't really my thing sadly.

  • Can someone explain to me why they like this album? I consider my tastes to be pretty diverse and I do enjoy more experimental works - for example I LOVE the recent VMP issue of The Books, Lemon of Pink. I've tried to listen to this one a couple of times, but I can't stand it.

  • People like this album because it touches a part of their soul that few musical releases have been able to reach in to for some time now, not to mention the fact that it is the next step after The Books work to revolutionize use of the sampler outside of Hip-Hop/Rap. Your tastes may be diverse, but they aren’t yet eclectic, although they don’t really need to be eclectic to enjoy this album.Try out some of Animal Collectives ;after albums, some of Panda Bear’s other solo albums, and come back to this. If you like Lemon of Pink maybe check out Prospect Hummer or Young Prayer.

  • It's hard to delve deep into the work of Panda Bear without being familiar with Animal Collective. When this album first came out some people knew what they were getting into and others had no idea what to do with it. The album will make more sense (if not become more appealing) once you've heard some Animal Collective.

  • My first impressions of this album were very negative. I remember hearing it and thinking this was either just boring or flat-out bad. One day I decided to give it another listen after having a bad day. I felt how positive the album sounded, but it didn't sound saccharine or poppy. It was very chill in its presentation and, yes, even trippy. My appreciation of this album really came to me when I had read how it was produced; almost the entire album is made up of samples of other songs. The way Noah crafted this album using other sources and making the songs entirely his own in the process was mind-blowing to me! There are some videos on YouTube that provide examples of the samples Noah used on Person Pitch and it really brought into context how amazing Person Pitch really is. I would recommend going into it knowing the samples and/or maybe just listening to it when you feel like relaxing or chilling out. If you still don't like it then it's completely understandable; this is not an accessible album.

  • try to listen to it with headphones and'll like it.

  • I sincerely appreciate your response. Perhaps I'll try with headphones sometime.

  • I've had the original pressing for some time, but I ditched it for this copy because the original pressing is excessively noisy. This remaster is really fantastic. Does justice to the original music. The colorful records, gatefold, and drink recipe are a bonus. :) If you're considering selling your original pressing and getting this one, I would recommend it!

  • Incredible release. Love that it now comes in a gatefold. My OG press had the glue come off because of the weight of the 2 records in one sleeve.

  • As mostly everyone else has said, I'm blown away by this

  • Truly one of the best sounding records I own, and that includes the original pressing! VMP killed it on this one!

  • unluckily, my copy has serious non fill issues on side D along with a couple of VERY loud and annoying pops. sides a-c sound amazing though. compared to my original vinyl pressing, sound seems much clearer and punchier on this reissue. that said, it's a shame that at least side d on my copy seems to suffer from a pressing defect.

  • Yep. This is the same exact experience I'm having. The first five tracks sound great. It isn't until "Search for Delicious" on Side D that I started experiencing this loud popping. One of my favourite tracks unfortunately diminished because of it.

  • If you got the record directly through VMP just shoot them an e-mail and they will replace your copy, they have wonderful customer service and will always replace a copy if possible and in a case where they can't replace the copy (i.e sold out ltd release) than they will issue a refund.

  • My white vinyl is warped really badly. I haven't listened to side D but I wouldn't be surprised if it's also defective.

  • My white vinyl has a severe warp. Anyone else experience this?

  • Amazing reissue! The blue and white vinyl looks and sounds great. Also really love the gatefold image!

  • Amazing presentation! The VMP sleeve is gatefold this time around with new art inside. The inserts include an original print (which is killer), original words/notes, drink recipe, and VMP promotional insert, but you do miss out on the liner notes/acknowledgements included with the original pressing. As for the half speed remaster, it sounds fantastic! They've done wonders to "bring out" the ambient/background layers. I did a quick A-side comparison of my original 33 pressing vs. the new 45, and the VMP is hands-down the winner across the board. My new go-to copy without a doubt.

  • This really is great. You can tell Lennox was totally looking over the shoulders of VMP when they curated this release.

  • Immaculate pressing from Vinyl Me, Please. Looks and sounds beautiful.

  • I hope they release it outside VMP... has this been confirmed yet?

  • It won't be. It's exclusive to the club. Betcha could find a copy on discogs floating around.

  • Not yet but they probably will. I hopped on this because I had a referral code, and if they do an official reissue outside of this VMP release, it won't be $17.

  • Waiting for my copy to come in the mail. How does the pressing sound?

  • COMES WITH A MINI POSTER - of a panda bear! go figure. Art exclusive to the VMP club tho, so its not the original art inside.

  • nope, literally nothing in the sleeves aside from the records themselves.

  • The pressing sounds great! You shouldn't be disappointed. I just got mine today. Probably one of the best releases Vinyl Me Please has put out thus far.

  • Sounds great, very clean pressing. I haven't heard this album before and it's like a beach boy stoned in space.

  • Does it come with a mini poster/picture collage like the original release?

  • So far on my setup it sounds great... Really loud too...
