Excellent audience recording from New York 10/13/82

  • this is probably about the best boot from the autumn 1982 so called us farewell tour by the who, i was not crazy about the attire the band wore onstage and the lack of power the band displayed live as i felt the best post keith moon tour was the 1979 tour as i have stated in other reviews as at least in 79 there seemed to be a lot of power left, by autumn 1982 pete had cleaned up and had a whole new look about him as did roger but we are really not hear to read about that are we??? anyway the reason i feel this is the best who boot from that tour is becouse for some reason at the old shea stadium in queens new york the who did 2 songs live and ONLY AT THIS GIG AS THIS WAS THE SECOND GIG OF 2 NIGHTS, they did TATTOO from sell out and they also did the beatles cover I SAW HER STANDING THERE as well as the encore twist and shout wich the ox did great justice to on both tracks alike, anyway this was also a higher energy gig as opposed to other boots from this tour and even though we know some 30 something odd years later roger and pete could no longer stand each other they still pulled this gig off quite well, i was supposed to go to this show but i sadly missed it, anyway once again what makes this boot special is the extra beatles cover and the who 1967 classic tattoo as BOTH songs where only played once in 1982 AT THIS ONE GIG ONLY, great silver factory pressed 2 cd set.......................
